Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada Sunni Associations Federation staged protest against the uniform civil code and abolition of triple talaq on Friday in front of DC office.
Addressing the protestors SSF State President Shafi Saadi said that if there is any issues related to talaq or something then the community leaders will discuss it and sort it out. The Central government is busy in implementing uniform civil code and violating the rights of Muslims, while other important things like poverty has been kept aside.
“If Modi is so much concerned about the Muslim women then let him give justice to Akhlaq’s wife, who was a victim of saffronism. Let him give justice to the husband whose pregnant wife was se t on fire and her foetus was taken out. Let him give justice to the two Muslim women who were hanged to a tree. If one woman named Sharaya Banu is the victim of triple talaq and she objects it, then there are 9 crore Muslim women who are supporting us to fight against the Central government,” he said.
He further said that if the uniform civil code is implemented then it should be implemented as per the rules of religion. Interference of anyone in against Shariyat or talaq will not be tolerated. The Central government is making this as a big issue to fetch votes in UP election.
Quazi Bekal Ibrahim Musliyar said that according to the Islamic laws the divorce can be taken only with a good faith and not to misuse it for the personnel purposes. There are leaders in the community to correct the mistakes in the law.
“We are Indians and we want live here peacefully. No one should interfere in the internal matters of Islam. We are not forcing anyone to be Muslim and whoever is Muslim then they should live like a Muslim. We will fight back if someone tries to interfere in our religious matter,” he added.
