Udupi: Quarrel for ancestral property ended up in a murder at Hosangadi Kairumane in Perdur village on Monday.

The deaceased has been identified as Manjunath Mogera (30) of Kairumane. His younger brother and he had fight between them for the ancestral property and his younger brother Sadhu Mogera killed his brother as the fight reached peak level.

Sadhu was not employed anywhere and he was fighting all the time for money with his elder brother for his expenses. They are living in their ancestral house along with their mother. Sadhu’s demand to distribute the property was increasing day by day.

On Monday, Sadhu again started the quarrelling with his brother and after a while Sadhu hit his brother with a wooden piece to the head and other parts. Manjunath was severely injured by the attack and he was taken to the hospital immediately by a local person named Sundar Mogera.

But Manjunath didn’t respond to the treatment and he breathed his last in the hospital.

Hiriyadka police have arrested Sadhu Mogera based on the complaint filed by Sundar Mogera.
