Udupi: Former Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist visited the Manipal University and interacted with the students at Merina, Manipal University Sports Centre on Friday.
He was the part of the delegation from Wollongong University, Australia which had come here to sign the MoU with Manipal University.
Speaking on the occasion Gilchrist said that this MoU will be a gateway to Indian students and Australian students for the exchange of knowledge and the culture. The relationship between both the two countries also will be augmented due to this.
“Indian students are privileged. The government is funding them scholarships to study in the foreign countries. In India also quality education is being provided with the extracurricular activities as well as projects and assignments,” he said.
Vinod Bhat, Vice-Chancellor of Manipal University, after signing the MoU said that it is a proud moment for Manipal Unoversity to sign the MoU with Wollongong University. Manipal University is working with Wollongong from past 15 years.
“Students can avail extra facilities due to the collaboration of both the universities. They can have mobility between both the universities, project work seminar and academics related meetings will yield more fruit,” he added.
