Mangaluru: Another case of fake Rs 2000 note has been reported from Thokkottu on Monday. Before everyone could get the new note from the bank, plague of fake notes has been increased.
A fisherman identified as Mustafa f Ullal, was selling fish near Kallapu. Mustafa accepted all Rs 2000 notes without any doubts and due to heavy rush he couldn’t find which was original and which is fake.
While counting the note in the evening he found one faded note in the cash box. The note was printed using colour printer and the colour was faded after coming in contact of the water. Then he realised that he has been cheated with the fake currency note.
Racket of fake notes is increasing drastically. This is the second case in the state, previously a vegetable vendor was cheated with the fake Rs 2000 note.
