Mangaluru: “The new district Congress office which has been constructed at Kadri will be inaugurated by AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh on November 19,” said district in-charge Minister Ramanath Rai.

Speaking to the reporters at district Congress office on Tuesday he said that to commemorate the pro people works of Indira Gandhi, the new office will named as ‘Indira Gandhi Janmashthabdi Bhavan’.

“The mega convention will be flagged off by CM Siddaramaiah at Nehru Maidan on same day afternoon. He will also inaugurate the statue of Pandith Jawaharlal Nehru constructed by Mangaluru City Corporation,” he said.

He further said that KPCC President Dr G Parameshwar, KPCC Working President Dinesh Gundu Rao, MP and senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, Rajya Sabha MP Oscar Fernandes and other top brass of the party are expected to join the convention.

District Congress Interim President Ibrahim Kodijal, Myor Harinath, MLA Ivan D’Souza, MLA J R Lobo and others were present.
