New delhi : Baahubali 2 director SS Rajamouli filed a complaint with the Jubilee Hills, (Hyderabad) police station, in connection with ‘stealing’ footage from the in-process Baahubali 2.
Sources say Krishna Dyanand Chowdhary, who works as an assistant graphic designer at the Annapoorna Studio in Hyderabad, where the editing of Baahubali 2 is underway, stole the six-minute-long clip from the server and later shared it with his Vijayawada-based friends. The clip was uploaded on YouTube too.
Raw footage from what is being thought of as the film’s climax, the war sequence, has found its way to the internet. The film team sprung into action pretty quickly after the leak was discovered and did their best to report and remove the scenes from the internet, but the damage seems to have been done already.
The graphic designer who is allegedly responsible for the leak was arrested by the Jubilee Hills police on Tuesday.
Speaking to media news, ACP KCS Raghuveer (Cyber Crime Cell, Hyderabad Police), said “One of the producers approached us and filed a complaint regarding the leak. We have registered a case under Section 66 RW 43 of the IT Act and Section 63 of the Copyright Act and are investigating the case. The police have arrested Krishna Dyanand Chowdhary for his alleged role in the leak.”
Baahubali 2 has been falling prey to unauthorised leaks ever since SS Rajamouli green-flagged the shoot. From photos from the sets to the an entire war sequence now, the Baahubali 2 team has been fighting hard to keep these leaks in check. Rajamouli had banned mobile phones on the sets too, but wasn’t able to prevent the damage.
Baahubali 2, which is called The Conclusion, is a sequel to 2015’s Baahubali The Beginning, is among the most anticipated films of 2017. The Conclusion is set to hit the screens on April 28, 2017.
The film, which stars Prabhas as the eponymous character, will see Baahubali fans getting the answer to the most-asked question of 2015: Why did Katappa kill Baahubali? That was where Baahubali The Beginning had ended, leaving people waiting with bated breath for the sequel to arrive.
Apart from Prabhas in the lead role, Baahubali 2 stars Tamannaah Bhatia, Anushka Shetty and Sathyaraj in pivotal roles. The story is based in the fictional, mythical kingdom of Mahishmathi and deals with the rule and murder of Baahubali, the king.
A few days ago, the Income Tax department raided the office and residence of Baahubali producers Shobhu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni.
