Puttur: In an incident reported, a leopard got caught in a trap laid for wild boar at Malethody, Kolthige village in Puttur on Wednesday morning.

Forest officials released the leopard at Bisle Ghat Reserve Forest.

It is said that Balakrishna Kedilaya had laid a trap for wild boar in his plantation. However, when his son Madhu went to pump water, he noticed a leopard entangled in the net. The police and Forest Department officials were informed. Experts from Pilikula Nisragadhama, who arrived at the spot, were unable to cage the leopard.

The forest officials managed to catch hold of the animal in the evening.
