Badiadka: In a tragic incident, two children drowned in a well at Pilankatte near Badiadka on Tuesday morning.

The deceased children are Ramzan (4) son of Hameed from Pilankatte, Ubrangala and Najwan (2) son of Hameed’s brother, Shabbir.

The incident occurred around 9.30 a.m. on Tuesday morning when the two kids who were playing in the courtyard of their house went missing. While the inmates of the house started a frantic search for the kids, they saw that the water in the well had turned muddy.

The local people searched the well and found the bodies of two children who had already breathed their last.

Even though the well has a protective compound, it is gathered that a heap of crusher stones was stored near the well. It is believed that the two children might have climbed on the heap of stones placed while playing and may have accidentally slipped into the well.

The fathers of both children are working in Gulf countries. Ramzan is survived by father, mother and sister. Najwan is survived by father and mother.

Badiadka police reached the spot and conducted the inquest. Afterwards, the bodies were sent to Community Hospital, Badiadka for post mortem.
