Mangaluru: Demanding to control the private hospitals and to develop the government hospitals, to construct government medical college in district and to call for a meeting of health regulation committee DYFI staged protest in front of DC office of Monday.
Addressing the protestors DYFI state President Muneer Katipalla said that provate hospitals are charging heavy amount of money in the name of various tests. They are not following any government norms. They are violating the rules by not displaying the test charges.
“Condition of government hospitals is critical. ICU in Wenlock hospital is suffering from basic facilities. People are afraid of taluk government hospitals. Number of government hospitals are lesser than average in many places. District administration and public representatives have neglected the issue,” he said.
He further said that the government can build a medical college using Lady Goshen and district Wenlock hospital, but the government is showing interest in granting permission to private medical colleges.
DYFI district President Dayananda Shetty said that the government is converting government hospitals into private hospitals. Many businessmen are looting crores of money in health sector and the government is also involved in it.
DYFI Secretary Santhosh Bajal, Vice-President B K Imtiyaz, Jeevaraj Kutthar and others were present.
