Mangaluru: Bhuvaneshwari Hegde, head of Dr Shivaram Karanth research seat and well known humor writer has been chosen for the ‘Avva’ award, which will be presented by Avva Seva Trust, Hubballi.

At present she is working as professor at Mangaluru University in Economics department. Considering her contribution to the Kannada literature this award is being presented to her.

She is writing columns in various newspapers since past three decades. She had previously bagged Karnataka Sahitya Academy Award, Padakone Ramanada Award, Ugrana Award, B H Shreedhar and Infosys Foundation Award and other.

The ‘Avva’ award will be presented on December 11 at Gujarat Bhavan, Hubballi. High Court Judge Koratagere Narasimhamurthy Fanindra, writers Dr Baraguru Ramachandrappa, Veena Bannaje, Ranganath Bharadhwaj and others will be gracing the occasion with their presence.
