Belthangady: Police have arrested two persons on Monday in relation with robbery in a jewellery shop which took place in Ujire on June 10.

Manjunath alias Koli Manja (49) and Mahantesh (21) are identified as the arrested persons. Both are hailing from Madhugiri taluk of Tumkur district.

Both has decamped with the stolen gold on June 10 night after they entered into the Damas jewelleries by breaking shutter lock. Teams had been formed to catch the robbers under the guidance of Belthangady circle inspector.

Upon gettingaccurate information about the accused, police arrested both of them in Madhugiri taluk. Both have been remanded to judicial custody by the court.

ASI Karunakar, Satish B N and other police personnel took part in the operation.
