Mangaluru: The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday issued notice to Mangaluru police on a petition seeking a narco analysis test on the accused in the murder of RTI activist Vinayaka Baliga.
The petitioner, Ramachandra Baliga, father of Vinayaka Baliga, challenged the order passed by an additional sessions court in Mangaluru refusing to direct the Mangaluru police to conduct a narco analysis test on the accused Naresh Shenoy.
Vinayaka Baliga, 51, was murdered at Kodialbail in Mangaluru on March 21, 2016. The additional sessions court had passed the order rejecting Ramachandra Baliga’s application on September 22, 2016.
Additional Senior Civil Judge and Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, Udupi, has extended the judicial custody of all the three accused in connection with Bhaskar Shetty murder case accused one Rajeshwari and accused two and three, son Navneeth and astrologer Niranjan Bhat to December 27.
The accused four Srinivas Bhat and five Raghavendra, the father and driver of the accused three Niranjan Bhat, who are out on conditional bail, were present in the court.
The District and Sessions Court has adjourned the hearing on bail plea moved by accused one Rajeshwari, to December 16.
