Udupi: A rowdy sheeter was hacked to death at Kotanankatte in Hiriadka police limits on Monday.
Varvadi Praveen Kulal (35) is identified as the deceased person.

When Praveen was about to enter a restaurant to have lunch with his friend, two persons who came on bike attacked him with machetes.

When Praveen ran to save his life attackers chased him and caught him opposite to the restaurant. As per an eyewitness he was attacked nearly for half an hour and no one came forward to rescue.

Praveen was prime accused in murder case of Balegudde Sulaiman. He was arrested in an extortion case of Moodubelle bar owner. Moreover many cases in various police stations had been registered against him.

Udupi SP K T Balakrishna and other police officials visited the spot.

A case has been registered at Hiriyadka police station.
