Mangaluru: “Festivals are symbol of peace and harmony. It is not only the Christmas is being celebrated here, we are celebrating the unity and brotherhood along with Christmas,” said President of Sayyed Madani Darga Rasheed Ullal.
He was speaking in ‘Sauharda Christmas’ programme organised by Chief Whip Ivan D’Souza at Kankanady Market Ground on Thursday.
“If all the festivals are celebrated as today, then there will not be any communal clashes in the society. None of the religion teaches violence. All the religions teach only peace and harmony. Moreover, Christian institutes are providing quality education to the students,” he said.
Prajapita Brahma Kumari Eshwariya Vishwavidyalaya’s Brahmakumari Vishweshwari said that festivals bring people together. The desires what human have are the reason behind lose of peace of mind.
“We need to forged the differences between us and should forgive and forget whatever wrong happened to us. This will help to develop peace of mind,” she added.
Director of Father Muller Hospital Fr Richard Coelho said that those who create conflicts and violence in the society are the sickest people in the society. There is a need to be healthier by spreading peace and harmony in the society. Everyone should respect other religions and should forget the negative encounters.
