Mangaluru: Ramakrishna Mission, Mangaluru organised seven cleanliness drives (150-156) as part of its 400 scheduled ‘Swacch Mangaluru Abhiyans’ on December 25 at seven different venues in the city.
Members of Subramanya Sabha Sadan took up the drive in front of the Subramanya Sadana and Capucchino Church. Under the guidance of Dinesh Holla, attractive paintings with the messages on Swacch Mangaluru were painted on the compound walls after the cleaning program in the location.
Members of Team Inspiration carried on the drive on the main road opposite to Lady Goshen Hospital. Madan, SI, Bunder police station and Prof. Sheshappa Amin jointly flagged off the drive. A group of memebers under the leadership of Sahil cleared the posters pasted to the walls of bus shelter. Artists Gajendra and team painted attractive paintings narrating clean green environment on the compound walls.
The Students of Ganapthi English Medium high school cleaned the campus of the school and GHS road. A S Ramachnadra Rao, CEO of Saraswat Education Trust flagged off the drive. Teachers, Namitha and Nagaraj guided the students. For the past 2 weeks the compound walls were being painted with Worli and painting work was resumed on Sunday also.
Members of Nityananda Balaga cleaned the Neereshwalya Road. Madhav Shetty and Narayan Shetty flagged off the drive. The road leading from Nityananda Ashrama to Nereshwalya was thoroughly cleaned. Team led by Gopalakrishna Kumble cleaned the Nagasthan.
Members of Nivedita Balaga took up the drive in front of Mangaladevi Temple and on Mangaladevi Road. Sharath Chandra Dongre flagged off the drive. As many as 50 youths under the guidance of Rathna Alva cleaned the road leading from Mangaladevi Temple to Cascia Highschool. Varondara Pradeep completed the painting on compound walls started as installation art opposite Jeppu Park on the road roller. Vijayalakshmi coordinated the team.
The members of Team Silver Fox carried out the drive in Jyoti circle area. Jyothi circle and all the four roads leading to the circle were cleaned. They renovated and repainted the name board of Shivarama Karanatha Road.
The students of Rama Vidya Kendra and Swacch Bharath Nirmana Sangha had jointly organized Swacch Kalladka Programme. Princial Krishna Prasad initiated the drive. Roads leading to Kalladka main market were cleaned. About 50 college students participated in the drive.
