Bantwal: The Vittal police on Friday arrested two persons involved in peddling ganja and seized items worth Rs 2 lacs from their possession.

The arrested are Arman, a native of Uttar Pradesh and Kalandar Shafi from Kanyana, Bantwal. The seized items are 13 Kgs of ganja worth Rs 1.5 lac and scooter worth Rs 50,000.

Suspecting a huge amount of ganja dealing going on in the area, Superintendent of police Gulabrao Borase, constituted a police team comprising of DySP Raveesh C R, CPI Manjayya, Vittal PSI Nagaraju, ASI Rukmaya and others to investigate the matter.

The two arrested are believed to have been controlling the major chunk in the ganja dealings in the area.
