Mangalore : A 13-year-old boy, who was working in the house of Maimoona in Mulihitlu was rescued by the members of Tulunada Rakshana Vedike on Jan 17, Monday.
The protected boy Rafique is the son of Nana Saheb and Noor Jehan of Sirsi in Uttara Kannada.
Reportedly, his owner Maimoona used to make him work very hard at her house and even in neighbors house and also used to chain him. She even made him work at a bar and hardly gave enough food to eat.
Rafique had complained about the food to his neighbors, two days back. However, Tulunada Rakshana Vedike, who got this information, conducted a raid at the house and rescued the boy. He was later produced before Pandeshwar Police, who in turn took him to a child care centre.
According to sources, Maimoona informed neighbors that Rafique is her son and was willing to send him to work in their houses if they gave her Rs. 2000 per month.
