Mangaluru: The airport police personnel have arrested Parvez Ahmed on January 10 at Mumbai airport for cheating Mangaluru based candle manufacturers Primacy Industries Ltd. In a fraud case of Rs 1.08 crore, the accused was absconding for the last three years after obtaining anticipatory bail. Parvez Ahmed, is the second accused in the case and Mangaluru police are in search of first accused Adil Sheikh.
Mangaluru court has issued a non bailable warrant to the first accused as he was misused anticipatory bail and moved to Dubai. Parvez Ahmed has been taken into custody by the Panambur police from Mumbai airport police personnel after his arrest by them.
The cheating case was came into light in August 2013 after Adil Sheikh, a Mangaluru city resident had resigned his job at Primacy in 2009 and joined a company in Dubai. Adil Sheikh through his company owner Parvez Ahmed spoke to Primacy Company and had cracked a deal to supply of 125 metric tons of refined Paraffin Wax to Primacy company. According to the deal, the company ordered to supply the wax and paid Rs 1, 08, 28,687 to the quantity to be supplied. The fraud was came into light when the consignment reached at New Mangalore Port in January 2014, instead of Paraffin Wax, there was only white chalk powder. Meanwhile, the bail application of Parvez Ahmed will come up before the Mangaluru second JMFC Court on Friday.
