Mangaluru: Karnataka state Akshara Dasoha employees’ association DK district committee staged protest keeping various demands in front of the government, on Friday in front of DC office.
Protestors urged the government that the government should fix minimum wage for Akshara Dasoha employees and they should be provided social security by recruiting them as permanent employees.
“The move to hand over Akshara Dasoha scheme to private organisation is not a good move by the government. Nearly 25 lakh people are employed here without any social security. The government should provide them minimum wage,” said Association President Padmavathi Shetty.
Sunil Kumar Bajal, CITU Secretary said that previous government was also mum on this issue. The present government is also not taking any measures to meet the demands as well. Moreover, Rs 3 lakh grant for the employees has been reduced and this shows the anti labouring policy of the government.
DK CITU Vice_president Vasanth Achary, Association Treasurer Bhavya, General Secretary Girija and others were present.
