Mangaluru: In a tragedy reported, a youth was killed after he was run over by a lorry near Alake in the city on Thursday morning.

It is learnt that Ganesh (29), resident of Kudroli was on his moped when he lost balance and fell off his vehicle near Alake. Meanwhile, an oncoming lorry ran over him, killing him on the spot.

Traffic came to a standstill following the accident. The police visited the spot and registered a case.
