Mangaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister has failed to support weaker sections of the society even in his 12th state budget presented on Wednesday for 2017-18, said MLC, BJP Leader Kota Shrinivas Poojary commenting on the budget announcement made by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The Congress government took four years to declare five new taluks in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts, said Poojary blaming the party leader ship in a statement.
The state government failed to make any announcement to waive the loans of poor farmers of the state amid severe drought conditions and crop damage. Chief minister is still silent over Yettinahole Project when the people of Dakshina Kannada are opposing the project following environment damage which could dry up River Netravati and destroy the eco system of Western Ghats.
Speaking on the vented dam announced, Poojary criticised the government that vented dams could harm the interest of the fishermen living near by areas. MLC also noted that only mere announcement on expansion of jetty in Malpe and Mangaluru fisheries ports couldn’t help anyone.
