Mangaluru: A KSRTC bus hit a pedestrian as rash and negligent driving near the bus stand at Hampankatte on Wednesday morning.

The man was identified as Mohammed Hakeem (25) suffered injuries but had a miraculous escape. He hails from Bihar and employed in a hotel at Deralakatte,

A CCTV camera captured the incident and it has gone viral since then. The footage clearly showed that Hakeem was walking on the road looking into his mobile, while the oncoming KSRTC bus, overtook a private bus and hit Hakeem as it entered the bus bay. Hakeem was thrown on the pavement and onlookers rushed to his rescue.

Police sources said that he suffered injuries on his head and shoulders. He was taken to the Wenlock Hospital and then shifted to a private hospital in Deralakatte.

A case was registered against the bus driver.
