Mangaluru: BJP staged protest on Wednesday before Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) has alleging that MCC creating artificial water shortage even if there is enough water storage in Thumbe vented dam for the people in the city.

Speaking on the occasion, senior BJP leader and former MLC Monappa Bhandary said that, MCC including Mayor Kavitha Sanil have been spreading wrong rumours that there is water scarcity in the city. However, there is no such a condition, instead there is enough water for drinking in Thumbe vented dam which can be easily supplied to the city residents.

The protesters also alleged that rumours on water scarcity can support water tank mafia in the city. Therefore, senior congress leaders including Janardhana Poojary should advice MCC Mayor on the issue immediately. A mach from PVS circle to MCC was also organised as part of the protests.
