Kasargod: Two women were killed while three others suffered injuries after a car and ambulance collided at Mallangai in the district on Sunday.

The deceased women  are Julaika (60) and her granddaughter Mufida (17). A man who was seriously injured in a stabbing case was being rushed towards a hospital in Mangaluru in an ambulance  when the vehicle collided against  the car

It is said that the ambulance, transporting a person who was stabbed was on its way to Mangaluru when the accident took place.

The women who lost their lives were travelling by the car and were declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

Traffic on the highway came to a standstill after the accident.

A case was registered in Kumble police station.
