Kundapur: The collision of two cars at Maravanthe led to the death of one person while nine others are said to be critically injured.

The driver of one of the cars was identified as the deceased.

It is said that a Maruti Suzuki Swift was on its way to Goa while an Alto was going towards Udupi. The cars collided head-on at Maravanthe, at a spot where some road work was in progress.

Sources say that over speeding and the narrow path led to the accident.
