Bantwal :  Purandar Hegde,  tahsildar of the Bantwal taluk, along with police personnel and other officials removed Ashraf Kalai memorial public bus shelter built at Kalai  on Sunday July 30.

After receiving the complaints, district deputy commissioner asked the tahsildar follow procedures.  Kalais brother had built the bus stand at Kalai in memory of their late brother. Tahsildar suggested the concerned to build it again after getting permission.

Some leaders of different parties and religions who came there, opposed demolition of the bus shelter. They wanted the shelter to be allowed to continue in commemoration of social service rendered by Ashraf.

Tahsildar Purandara Hegde said that there is no problem if the shelter is built with necessary permission.
