Mangaluru: Passengers of the Gomateshwara express, train no. 16575 from Bengaluru, Yesvantapur Railway station, had scary experience when, the train halted on the Padil bridge, before signal to reach Mangaluru Junction Railway station. A group of youngsters, were found sitting on the bridge and smoking. Unaware,that they were smoking ganja, a few passenger who were sitting near the window seat of a particular compartment, had taken a casual look at the youngsters, who got annoyed, abused and threaten some of the passenger of dire consequences.
It was then a passenger, took courage, decided to take video on his mobile, of those youngsters, buy pretending as though he was receiving a call.But the youngsters became alert and have even warned, that passenger, of smashing his head. Seconds from then, the train started moving, after it was given the signal and reached Mangaluru Junction Railway station. The passenger, finding a few seconds video of those youngsters smoking ganja, alerted the Railway Protection Force at Mangaluru Junction Railway station, by showing the video and explaining and had said had expressed his apprehension and fear, that passengers of other trains crossing Padil bridge, of the danger they may have to face.

Not wanting to take a chance, the passenger, decided not to waste time, had sent the video to a friend, who had alerted the Commissioner of Police Mangaluru, and forwarded the video.
The Commissoner of Police, prompted their personnel and CCB inspector Sunil Naik, had nabbed five of them, three days ago and the accused are Nishant 19 yrs, Prakash Shetty 21 yrs Manish Jogi 19 yrs, Saurav 19 yrs and Nisarga 19 yrs. All of them are from KodaKal, Shivnagara, Padil and surrounding areas of Padil. Nishant works as a welder, and Prakash shetty and Nisarga are painters, while Manish Jogi, washing of vehicle in Toyota at Padil. Saurav is a mechanic in TVS company at Jeppu. On interrogation of the accused, the police have further arrested four more persons Rakshith J.S(19), Praveen (19), Sharath (19), Abhishek (23). Cases have been booked against them by Mangaluru Rural Police station.
All accused were given station bail and released.
