Mangaluru : IGP Harishekaran handed over the charge to Senior IPS officer Hemant Nimbalkar for the new inspector general of police (IGP) of western range here on Wednesday August 16.
Hemanth Nimbalkar is an officer of the 1998 batch and has served as the Additional Commissioner of Police Bengaluru East.The outgoing IGP Harishekaran, who has been transferred to Bengaluru.
Speaking to reporters after taking over the charge, Hemant Nimbalkar said, I give importance on peace and harmony in the district. “I was in Dakshina Kannada on probationary in 2002 and SP of Chikkamagaluru in 2009.” He also promised stringent action against those who try to disrupt peace in the district.
If any miscreant tries to disrupt peace or cause harm to anyone, such person will not be spared and strict action will be taken as per law,” he said.
