Mangaluru: City Crime Branch (CCB) police have raided district prison in Mangaluru city on Friday following complaints from the public that law is being violated in the prison to get number of things including ganja from outside. The raid was conducted following an order from Mangaluru City Police Commissioner TR Suresh by a police team led by DCP Hanumantharaya, ACP Valentines D’Souza and CCB SP Shyam Sunder.

Meanwhile, an assault case reportedly registered at Barke police station after a group of prisoners attacked the prisoner, Abid Hassan (25) who was sentenced to jail inconnection with cow theft case. Injured prisoner has been admitted to Wenlock hospital in Mangaluru for treatment.
