Mangaluru: Members of All College Students’ Association staged protests before Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner’s office in Mangaluru on Saturday and observed fast to urge the concerned authorities to investigate Kavya’s mysterious death. The protesters pressed the need of investigation into the case to nab culprits behind the scene.
The protesters expressed their anger over delay in the investigation being conducted by the police department and urged the state government to immediately handover Rs 25 lakh to the parents of the deceased as compensation. The parents of the deceased were also participated in the protests organized.
School student, state level Badminton player Kavya (16) was found dead on July 20 at her hostel room of Alva’s institute in Moodbidri under suspicious circumstances. Parents of the deceased and students expressed suspicion over the death of the student as such a brave girl found hanged.
