Kapu: A 7th standard student school student died on the spot on the national highway 66 after a two wheeler was hit by a lorry on Sunday evening at Katapady junction near Kapu in Udupi district.

The deceased has been identified as, Sushmitha Acharya (11).

The deceased was on her way to Kolambe in Udupi with her close relative Narayana Acharya when the incident took place. Sushmitha Acharya was the only child to Vasantha Acharya, a resident of Jalakadakatte near Kateel of Mangaluru.

The incident took place when a private bus unexpectedly stopped which forced Narayana Acharya to stop his vehicle suddenly. The lorry which was also following the motor cycle unexpectedly hit the bike killing the girl.

A case has been stands registered at Kapu police station on the incident.
