Mangaluru : Fuel prices triggered, Congress workers and supporters from Dakshina Kannada district on Thursday, to call for a protest in front of the DC’s Office. Slogans were raised, demanding the government to immediately roll back the price hike.
While the fuel prices are coming down around the world resulting in reduction of prices, Government in the centre, is hiking the price fuel prices constantly said, Harish Kumar, president, district Congress committee while addressing the protestors , “Crude oil prices are coming down across the world resulting in the reduction in fuel prices.. Despite high prices in international market, when Congress was in power, fuel was provided at less cost and rates were controlled.
“Luxury is what in foremost in the minds of Modi and he spend time also for it and country’s development does not bother him. He just says he has sacrificed everything for the sake of the nation and he does not have responsibility or guts to face media. But in reality, he has sacrificed his wife, to only enjoy every other thing in life”, he added.
“Indian banks till now have never faced financial crisis under Congress rule under former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, but now our banks are facing crisis and the economy is in complete chaos. Common people suffered due to Demonetisation and other unplanned financial decisions,” he concluded.
Dakshina Kannada interim Congress president Ibrahim Kodijal said, “The government at centre is on controversial issues, by showing importance in busy discussions on Triple Talaq and safety of cows and they put in maximum efforts to keeps such issue in news. BJP workers agitated during the time of UPA government for minimal hike of fuel rates, where are they now, when the fuel prices are increased day after day? Public should and will teach them a lesson very soon.”
Shalet Pinto, district women’s Congress president said prices of all essential commodities hasve gone up with the increase in fuel prices. She also lashed out over long list of questions, to be filled up by farmers for the loan waiver with no logic behind it for waiver of farm loan.
