Mangaluru : The famous Navaratri celebrations at historical Mahathobhara Sri Mangaladevite temple witnesed the grand procession of goddess Mangaladevi. The idol of Mangaladevi was taken from the temple to Marnamikatta in the chariot from the temple on September 30th Saturday.
Large number of devotees gathered in both sides of the main street at Mangaladevi to watch the procession. The procession of Goddess Sharada idol accompanied with several tableaux and Huli Vesha troupes passed through main street. A tableau of Hulivesha (men dancing by painted like tigers) and other tableaux depicting various cultural forms of the region led the procession. The last in the procession was the chariot c Goddess Sharada arrying the idol of Goddess Sharada.
With the grand Rathotsava, a Navaratri celebration concludes at the Mangaladevi Temple.The temple also performed a Bali Pooja on the occasion.
At temple offers Kalpokta Pooja to Navadurgis on all the days of Navaratri, when Goddess Mangaladevi is adorned and decorated in nine different ways giving a glimpse of the Navadurgis to the devotees.
Mangaldevi Temple DasaraThe Mangaladevi temple, which boasts of Chola sculpture, wore a festive look throughout the Dasara.
Navaratri Festival celebrated on a grand scale across the district in the temple including Durgaparamshwari temple at Boppanadu Mulki, Durgaparmeshwari temple at Kateel, Sri Mukambika temple Kolluru, Sri Marikamba Temple Adu Maroli, Chirumba Bhagavathi khshetra Ullala.
Avabrutha Snana will perform on the 10th day which is called Vijaya Dashami.
