Mangaluru : The Mangaluru Bar Association was organised a protest against the government for transfering of senior High Court judge Jayanth M Patil. Advocates stage protest in-front of their Association in court campus on October 4, Wednesday.
The lawyers fraternity boycotted the proceedings at the Sessions Court and demanded the appointment of a judge at the earliest.
The protesters demanded that the High court should have appointed 82 judges. At present there are only 27 judges serving at the high court.The sudden transfer of a senior judge has hit hard the entire association,” said a press release of Mangaluru Bar Association.
Mangaluru Bar Association President M R Ballal, Vice President Pushpalatha, General Secretary and others participated in the protest.
