Mangaluru: The cold blooded murder at Ullal police station limits on Wednesday evening took a political turn on Thursday with Rahim Ucchil, BJP minority morcha state president alleging role of Congress party workers in the murder.
In return, Congress leaders in Ullal irked by the remark, have filed complaint against Rahim, demanding his arrest. Meanwhile, police say they have got definitive clues about murderers. Reliable sources said that assailants reportedly belong to notorious ‘Target Group’, who are known for criminal activities and are active in Ullal area. The entire gruesome act was caught on CCTV cameras installed nearby.
On Wednesday, unidentified masked men, who came in a bike, brutally hacked to death Zubair, 40, an electrician by profession to death. While, Elyas, 50, working at fish dock was injured. They were talking to each other after finishing prayers at Mosque.
“Both of them are our party workers for last one decade. I have their party enrolment details. Though I do not want to politicise about the death, but it is a fact that assailants are closely associated with Congress and local MLA. Local Congress leaders to save themselves from embarrassment have filed a complaint against me,” alleged Rahim.
Police said that they are investigating into the matter and sure about assailants’ arrest. Complaint filed by Congress leaders at Ullal police station alleged that by such allegations, Rahim was trying to stir tension in the district, and tarnish image of Congress among the people.
