Udupi: Dakshina Kannada based journalist, environmentalist Jayanth Padubidri (58) has passed away on Friday after some severe health issues. Being a journalist he served the people as an activist and was successful to shut two corporate companies which indirectly affect the lives of the people in Dakshina Kannada.

The deceased began his career at Udayavani Kannada daily and later worked for Jana Vahini. As an author, he wrote for Jaya Kirana, Lankesh Patrike and other Kannada newspapers and periodicals. As a son of soil he fought for language, culture and rich heritage of Tulu Nadu, recall his close journalist friends.
