Mangaluru: As a prelude to the Vigilance awareness week, a program was organised by MRPL Vigilance Department at Govinda Dasa PU College, Surathkal in association with its NSS wing.
Central Vigilance Commission, apex body for fighting the corruption has proposed an ‘’E Integrity pledge” for citizens, wherein general public are requested to visit the CVC website, www.cvc.nic.in and click the link and follow the instructions for taking the E-pledge. A certificate of appreciation would be issued by CVC which can be downloaded and printed for taking the pledge.
The integrity pledge was administered to around 800 college students during the program. The program was presided over by Shri K. Upendra Rao, DGM – Vigilance, MRPL. Smt. Laxmi, Principal, Govinda Dasa PU College, Shri Venkataramana, NSS Coordinator, Smt. Chetana, Student Welfare officer and other officials from MRPL were present during the programme.
While speaking on the occasion, Shri. K Upendra Rao, DGM, Vigilance, MRPL said corruption is one of the major obstacles for the economic, political and social progress of our country. The government is vigorously pursuing its crusade against corruption by leveraging technology, he said. The Central Vigilance Commission which is the watchdog for integrity and transparency in Central Govt. establishments is reaching the public through various means to create awareness on the evil effect of corruption, he continued.
He briefed about the Online Integrity Pledge on CVC portal for the general public and corporates to swear their commitment to uphold highest standards of honesty and Integrity and to follow probity and rule of law in all walks of life. All citizens and Corporates can take the pledge online by visiting the CVC website.
