Mangaluru: MLA Mohiuddin Bava on Friday said that Indira Canteens will be opened at Surathkal and Kavoor. He also said there are plans to set up an outlet in Vamanjoor also. Speaking to reporters, Bava said the Congress government in the state is for the poor and he has been doing all possible things for the upliftment of the poor in his constituency. However, the BJP and a section of people with vested interests have been attempting to defame him.

Rubbishing allegations that he had money making plans in shifting hawkers to a temporary location from the Surathkal market in the garb of renovating the market, Bava said he had maintained transparency at every step of the project. Bava said that the state cabinet on Thursday approved a Regional Transport Office for Surathkal and it will start functioning in 10 days.
