Udupi: A lady reportedly lost her life following alleged medical negligence at a private hospital here in Udupi in an incident occurred on June 11, 2017. Speaking at a press conference in the town on Saturday, Bengaluru based Vasudeva Bhat alleged he lost his only daughter, M.Com degree holder, Vinitha after concerned doctors’ negligence. He also registered a police complaint at Udupi police station on the incident and demanded justice.
The victim admitted to a private hospital in Udupi on June 8 for a minor surgery on her kee following mild knee pain developed after a sport injury in 2016. The parents of the victim noticed serious allergic reactions on June 9 after she given first test dose. However, the doctors assured there would be no harm to the patient and the hospital would oversee her health.
After the surgery her health condition worsened further and fell into coma and she brought to another private hospital in Manipal for further treatment. She was declared dead on June 11 after treatment. The parents of the deceased alleged that the hospital authorities haven’t yet revealed the exact reason for the death of their only daughter. This has forced them to register a complaint on the matter and copies of the complaint sent to state home minister, senior police officers and others. Vasudeva Bhat is a native of Brahmavar and currently he is residing in Bengaluru.
