Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district police arrested a person after 24 years on Tuesday, who was accused in molestation case registered in Puttur Town police station in 1993. The arrested has been identified as Anand, aged about 50 and resident of Madikeri. Police said accused who was working at a hotel in Puttur in 1993, tried to molest a girl who was staying in the hotel and a case was registered.

Police said that Anand, released on bail, jumped all court proceeding and never attended any from past 24 years. After his release, Anand went around places like Kerala and Tamil Nadu for work and moved to Subrahmanya and had opened a fast food joint. Based on reliable information he was arrested and sent to judicial custody
