Bangalore: Raj Nath Singh of UP, a former BJP national president offered the option that CM Yeddyurappa could quit his position if a ‘prima facie’ (on the face of it) case is made out against him for corruption (nepotism) or land deal cases with solid proofs. He added that Yeddyurappa did not have to resign his post, without valid proof of corruption against him. He does not need to be told, if he is guilty, to resign as CM, Singh stated.
JD-S leader Revanna had made wild charges about CM amassing a wealth of Rs.1000 crores in May 2008, but could not hold a candle to CM on such charges. CM would not stay for over 24 hours if Revanna’s charges proved correct, Singh retorted.
Yeddyurappa was the first CM in South India, and BJP was not split over his continuance, even when governor sanctioned prosecution in 5 cases against CM, he said.
The Bangalore city court has not even taken cognizance of the 5 complaints made by 2 lawyers, Raj Nath explained. He made a mockery of the complaints as “a piece of paper” sent by lawyers, and disapproved of Governor Hans Raj in granting sanction to prosecute CM.
Lokayukta is already going into the various charges made by some one against CM Raj Nath confirmed that there was no internal probe in BJP, nor any one facing only allegations should quit.
