Mangaluru:Inspector-General K.R. Nautiyal, Commander, Coast Guard Region (West), visited Mangaluru on Sunday to review the Indian Coast Guard operations, infrastructure development and administration in Karnataka.
His priorities included strengthening the coastal security through coordination with various Central and State agencies and to make the seas safe on the West Coast of India, a Coast Guard release said.
During the visit, Mr. Nautiyal interacted with Coast Guard officers and men and visited various assets and places. He took stock of the situation and showed the path for improvement.
He expressed satisfaction over the recent rescue services rendered by Coast Guard Karnataka during cyclone Ockhi.
He also appreciated the progress made in land acquisition, infrastructure development and liaison of Coast Guard Karnataka with State administration, police, customs, fisheries and other stake holders, the release said
