Mangaluru: As a prelude to the Organics and Millets International Trade Fair in Bengaluru, a district level exhibition and sale of organic products and millets will be held at Kadri Park in Mangaluru on December 23 and 24.

Addressing reporters at Zilla Panchayat, ZP CEO Dr M R Ravi said that the event will be organised by the Department of Agriculture and the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts Regional Cooperative Organic Growers Federation.

Agriculture Minister Krishna Byre Gowda is expected to inaugurate the fest on December 23 at Kadri Park at 10.30 am. District in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai will inaugurate the exhibition stalls. Youth Empowerment, Sports and Fisheries minister Pramod Madhwaraj will inaugurate the brochure on millets. Mangaluru South MLA J R Lobo will preside.

Around 2000 organic farmers will take part in it.

Information will be provided on the use of various millets during the expo. Also, there will be a demonstration and competition on delicacies prepared with millets on December 24.

A total of 50 stalls will be put up at the venue. Value-added products of millets will be featured in the expo, he said.
