Udupi: A tourist bus carrying 65 students of Shri Maramma Devara Rural high school, Doddaramapura, Tumakuru, hit a tree near Kukunduru, in the Karkala town station limits on Friday.

According to police, from the preliminary information received, two children sustained leg injuries due to the accident, and were taken to KMC Manipal. A total seven children received minor injuries.

The bus driver lost control of the vehicle and rammed into an autorickshaw which was travelling on the left side of the road, and then hit a tree, after which it stopped. The driver of the autorickshaw and two passengers travelling in it, sustained grievous injuries on their legs.
