Mangaluru: The security has been tightened in Subrahmanya town in the backdrop of BJP national president Amit Shah’s visit to Kukke Subrahmanya on Monday night.
From Mangaluru International Airport, Shah will travel on road to Uppinangady-Kadaba to reach Subrahmanya. He will stay at the Adishesha guest house of the temple and will have dinner brought in from a hotel in Mangaluru.
He will be welcomed by the temple committee members at 6.30 am on Tuesday. After having a darshan of the deity, he will visit Sri Samputa Narasimha Mutt seer Vidyaprasadda Theertha Swami.
Later, he will take part in the Navashakthi Samavesha at Kulkunda. The BJP members have made all preparations to welcome Shah. The roads are adorned with party flags, buntings and flex. A huge stage has been erected at Kulkunda to accommodate at least 5,000 people. At Kulkunda, he will be accompanied by MPs Shobha Karandlaje and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, and MLA C T Ravi.
The security has been tightened in and around Kukke Subrahmanya Temple. Barring BJP leaders, none others are allowed inside the room where Shah will stay. The room has been provided with internet, telephone, television, printer and refrigerator facilities.
Although Adishesha is a VIP guest house, it did not have much facilities. There were no CCTV cameras nor generator facility. On Sunday, however, 10 CCTV cameras were installed in the guest house. Halogen lights have also been installed in and around the guest house.
ANF has carried out combing operations in and around Subrahmanya. Police have been deployed at strategic locations between Uppinangady and Subrahmanya.
