Udupi: “The future of the country is dependent on the youth. The progress of a country is possible if the aspirations of the youth are met,” Agriculture Minister Krishna Byre Gowda said.
He was speaking at an interaction on ‘Nanna Karnataka’ as organised by the NSUI unit at Udupi. “Compared to other countries of the world, our country is brimming with a youth force having the potential to create a better world. Youth are the asset of a country.
The election manifesto of political parties should give priority to the aspirations of the youth force. The promises made in the manifesto should also be fulfilled,” he added.
He said that there is a lack of interaction between the government and youth. “As the governments have failed to understand the expectations of the youth force while implementing the development programmes, the youth have stayed away from the administrative set up. Youth force should work in coordination with the government for building a strong nation,” he said.
“As per the statistics of the Central government, Karnataka is number one in investment and employment generation. The Congress-led state government has been successful in providing good governance, a scam-free administration and has been taking all the communities towards progress. To prepare a manifesto for the next five years, we have been interacting with the students as well,” he said.
Minister for Youth Empowerment and Sports Pramod Madhwaraj, Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation president M A Gafoor and others were present.
