Padubidri: Congress president Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the Modi government over recent banking frauds.
Keeping up the heat on the BJP-led NDA government during the ‘Janashirvada Yatre’ in Padubidri on Tuesday, Rahul said: “Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaks about Narayana Guru and Basavanna, but instead of practicing what they preach, he waives off crores of rupees worth loan taken by capitalists.”
Rahul said Narayana Guru and Basavanna preached the principle of equality.
“Basavanna and Narayana Guru preached the principle of equality. Though Modi speaks about those social reformers, he never practiced it,” he said.
It was Congress that took bank branches to the people of the country. However, the BJP government has made banking sector a ‘non-performing asset’. Let Modi practice what he speaks,” Rahul said.
BJP is trying to distroy peace in society. Narendra Modi and Arun Jaitley have failed to address the problems of the farmers. They have failed in fulfilling the promise of providing employment to the youth, he said.
He paused a question to party workers gathered, “Did anyone here got Rs 15 lakh from Modi?” To which, the party workers said “No”.
“Practice what you preace and fulfill all promises you make,” Gandhi said.
People of America look at Hindustan when they talk about development. However, Modi says that Congress has not done anything for the nation, he lamented.
“India saw development only because of the people and hard work of farmers, not because of Modi. Let Modi stop ridiculing those farmers who strived for the development of nation in the past 70 years,” he said.
