Chikkamagaluru: Zilla Panchayat CEO C Sathyabhama called upon the voters to exercise franchise judiciously to strengthen the democracy.

“It is our duty to elect representatives in the democratic setup. The right to exercise franchise should not be neglected,” she said.

She was speaking at the voter awareness and EVM/VVPAT demonstration held at Nethaji Subhashchandra Bose district stadium in Chikkamagaluru, on Sunday.

The voters should not get lured by any kind of incentives offered by the political parties, she said.

She added that all those who are 18 years of age can enroll their names on the voters’ list.

The last date for the enrollment is April 14.

The VVPAT will allow the voters to verify if their vote has gone to their intended candidate, she added.
