Karkala: The confusion that had risen due to the selection of Congress candidate for Karkala has been completely solved. The party leaders and activists have united to face the forth coming legislative assembly elections, informed senior Congress leader Dr. M. Veerappa Moily at a press conference on May 4th.

“If there are more than one aspirant for party ticket in a constituency, rise in difference of opinion is normal. But they all work for Congress. My son Harsha’s name was put forth by party senior leader Oscar Fernandes. But my son has step down citing that let him contest may spread the idea of favoritism.”

“Aspirant Udaya Shetty Muniyal has worked for the party. In the future, he will be provided a good opportunity in the party. H.Gopal lost in the previous election by a small difference of votes. Therefore, as per the direction of the party seniors, the ticket has been given to him. He has everyone’s support. Hence, congress victory is assured, “he said.

“A lot of development work has taken place when Karkala was administered by Congress. 100 bed government hospital, government degree college in Hebri, 65 government high school were all started during the early stages of Congress term. But during the term of BJP, the development has stunted. MP Shobha Karandlaje, local MLA has not given importance to development. Their only job is to criticize,” he said.

District vice president Udaya Shetty Muniyal spoke and said, “The issue regarding the confusion with candidate selection is just an issue within the party. It all occurs for the growth of Congress Party. We should act according to the direction of the senior leaders. The party’s victory is our aim. Party workers are all with us. We shall make Congress victorious,” he said.
