Mangaluru : The Karnataka assembly elections counting begun at pm at at Mahatma Gandhi Centenary High School and PU College, Bondel for the eight constituencies of Dakshina Kannada district.
Dakshina Kannada polled a voter turnout of 77.63 while Udupi recorded a turnout of 78.87%.
BJP candidate Umanath Kotian wins against Abhaychandra Jain by 29,799 votes
Tight security is in place in both the districts for peaceful counting.
